This lovely 80 place centre located in the heart of Richmond is seeking an ECT to work in their Preschool room. The centre follows a play based focus to learning whereby children are encouraged to explore and guide their learning experiences through their interests and this will further be facilitated through large outdoor and indoor spaces which are purpose-built to promote imaginative and interactive play. Though the service will mainly take a play-based approach, it will also incorporate a variety of philosophies and theories to ensure each child receives quality educational care based on their individual needs whilst adhering to the Early Years Framework.
The Preschool room has 30 children and you will be working alongside another ECT in the room. The centre is open Monday to Friday from 6:30am - 6:00pm.
The Role
As an Early Childhood Teacher your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting and working alongside the Room Leader to implement programming leading to successful learning outcomes for the children
- Communicating positively with the children and families
- Preparing, implementing and evaluating a developmentally appropriate program for individual children and groups
- Be reliable, respectful and work constructively with your colleagues and other professionals
- Ensuring a trusting relationship is developed with families through regular, honest and open communication regarding the care of their child
- Have a sound knowledge of current child care practices, the Early Years Learning Framework and the National Quality Framework

About You
To be successful in this position you must have:
- A Bachelors in Early Childhood Education OR Working towards (50% or more completed) OR ACECQA-approved equivalent qualification
- A current Working with Children’s Check
- Current first aid certificate (including asthma and anaphylactic training) or willing to obtain
- Have a sound understanding of the EYLF and NQS
