A large federal government organisation is currently seeking a dynamic Payments Officer to join their team in a temporary capacity. In this role, you will be a valued member of their team, working within defined parameters related to your area of responsibility. You will apply policy, principles, practices, and procedures to achieve outcomes that support and contribute to their objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Investigating and resolving outstanding payment requests that have been rejected through the myplace provider and participant portals.
- Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to resolve payment enquiries.
- Processing manual payments to providers and self-managed participants.
- Working to resolve payment issues, guided by legislation, organisation policies and standards, and Payments Branch Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Contributing to decision-making within the team/work area.
- Consistently meeting team and individual work resolution targets.
- Ensuring knowledge of and compliance with legislative, financial, and administrative frameworks.
- Maintaining an awareness of government decision-making processes, Agency guidelines, and regulations.

- Assistance animals may be in the work area (FYI for people with allergies or phobias).

Information Technology and Security:
- Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) clearance.
