The opportunity:
Randstad have partnered with a well established engineering Consultancy with an excellent reputation in providing full in-house specialist engineering solutions in Australia and abroad. Due to the strong pipeline of projects and unprecedented growth our client is experiencing, we are currently seeking an experienced Engineer in transmission line design with the ambition & drive to succeed in a Team Lead position based here in Melbourne, Victoria. The ideal candidate will have good working relationships with local EPC Contractors, Utilities & AEMO. For the successful candidate this will be an excellent opportunity to lead a diverse and experienced team of Engineers, develop business opportunities, and provide technical support to your team across Victoria & abroad. This role is ideal for someone who sees themselves stepping up into a Team Leadership position. With the right experience we would consider someone to step in immediately as a Team Leader.
Qualification, Experience and Requirements:
... - Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline such as Electrical, Civil, Structural, Mechanical, etc.
- 3+ years industry experience in transmission line design, 132kv +. Ideally as a Team Leader or as an Engineer.
- Have strong leadership qualities & communication skills.
- Ability to recognise and execute on business development opportunities.
- Demonstrate detailed understanding of client standards, systems and expectations.
- Deliver committed assignments with quality and within planned hours and timetable.
- Undertake billable work in projects associated with electrical and civil/structural engineering of transmission lines (overhead/ underground).
- Ensure compliance with detailed design/drafting standards (Employer and Employer’s clients) and related process improvements.
- Manage cost of operations & sales, driving efficiency to reduce operating expenses, & find areas of improvement for cost savings.
- Be located in or willing to relocate to Victoria.
- Must have full Australian work rights.
