Randstad are currently working with a large QLD based company who are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Commercial Analyst to join our finance team. The Commercial Analyst will play a crucial role in providing financial analysis, compliance reporting, and end-of-month activities to support informed decision-making and ensure accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate should possess a strong analytical mindset, exceptional attention to detail, and a solid understanding of financial principles and compliance standards.
Responsibilities:
Financial Analysis:
- Conduct thorough analysis of financial data, including revenue, expenses, and profitability, to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for cost optimisation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant data and insights for comprehensive financial analysis.
- Develop financial models, forecasts, and projections to support strategic planning and business growth initiatives.
Financial and Compliance Reporting:
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
- Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and external regulatory requirements, providing accurate and transparent reporting to management and stakeholders.
- Assist in the preparation of documentation required for audits and reviews, working closely with internal and external auditors.
End-of-Month Activities:
- Participate in month-end closing processes, reconciling accounts, and preparing journal entries as needed to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Collaborate with accounting teams to validate and reconcile financial data and transactions, resolving discrepancies as required.
- Assist in the preparation of accruals, prepayments, and adjustments to accurately reflect financial performance.
Data Analysis and Insights:
- Analyse operational and financial data to provide insights and recommendations to improve business performance, efficiency, and profitability.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to interpret financial results, explain variances, and provide actionable insights for informed decision-making.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in financial reporting, analysis, and compliance to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Contribute to the implementation of financial systems, tools, and technologies that streamline processes and improve data integrity.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- CA/ CPA require
- 2-3 years experience in financial analysis, reporting, and compliance, preferably in a commercial or corporate environment.
- Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and compliance regulations.
- Proficient in financial modelling, data analysis, and using tools such as Microsoft Excel,
- Experience with SAP, TM1 systems.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to work with complex financial data.
- Effective communication skills to convey financial insights and findings to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines, manage multiple tasks, and adapt to changing priorities.
