The Payments Officer position provides operational and administrative support to the Client. There will be a considerable level of contact with internal and external stakeholders and you will be required to communicate with and provide advice on a range of matters to resolve straightforward to moderately complex enquiries.
Responsibilities of the role:
- Investigating and resolving outstanding payment requests that have been rejected through participant portals.
- Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to resolve payment enquiries.
- Processing manual payments to providers and self-managed participants.
- Working to resolve payment issues, guided by legislation and policies
- Contribute to decision-making within the team/work area.
- Consistently meeting team and individual work resolution targets.
- Ensuring knowledge of and compliance with legislative, financial and administrative frameworks.
- Maintaining an awareness of government decision-making processes, Agency guidelines and regulations.

- Undertake procedural, clerical, administrative support or operational tasks including some research and analysis activities.
- Comfortable making decisions within defined parameters relating to the area of responsibility.
- Apply judgement, knowledge and limited discretion in interpreting and applying legislation, instructions, guidelines and procedures.
- Personable and friendly approach; liaising with internal and external stakeholders on moderately complex operational and administrative matters.
- Experience in a previous claims/payments role will be highly desired
