tools and documentation, including assisting and supporting the development
of instructional material
● undertaking a range of internal business assurance activities as required,
including driving business continuity planning; records management
● supporting divisional stakeholders by providing guidance in the development of
processes and work instructions to ensure consistent, evidence-based, and
lawful decision-making; providing assurance to CED executive of the same
through the development, implementation, and ongoing administration of a
CED IML register
● utilising networks and knowledge to navigate departmental administrative and
governance processes and assist in the establishment of these within the
division
● representing the Office at a variety of fora and establishing and maintaining
effective and productive relationships with departmental staff and counterparts
in law enforcement and other regulatory agencies.
The successful applicant will have some or all the following:
● strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability research topical
issues
● experience effectively coping with change, handling risk and uncertainty and
making decisions based on evidence and data
● willingness to champion internal compliance to safeguard organisational
integrity while promoting and acting as a ‘sounding board’ on standards of
ethical and corporate behaviour
● ability to provide high-level, strategic advice in governance, auditing,
administration, staff training, business planning and assurance of policies and
procedures
● strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills and have
experience in linking departmental strategies to operational outcomes.
The successful applicants will have some or all of the following:
● detailed knowledge or experience of Commonwealth Government governance
frameworks, operations, processes and systems, or the demonstrated ability to
acquire this knowledge
● substantial experience providing advice on issues and working with internal
and external stakeholders to facilitate the resolution of complex matters
● knowledge of the key factors of good governance and best practice while
increasing operational effectiveness and informing business decisions
● demonstrated ability to supervise and manage staff and lead a high performing
team to produce high quality work within agreed timeframes
● experience working within or leading a geographically dispersed and/or
regional team
● experience effectively coping with change, handling risk and uncertainty and
making decisions based on evidence and data
● knowledge of relevant legislation and legislative frameworks, such as, the
Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013.
