With an excellent reputation in local government, this council is seeking a procurement officer to join their team on a 6 month contract. Your responsibilities will be varied and include sourcing across services, projects, works, and indirect procurement.
Key responsibilities:
- Providing effective support for tendering and procurement activities
- Negotiating the ongoing supply agreements across goods, services, and works
- Encouraging best practice sourcing and providing advice to staff on policy, procedures, and procurement process/tools
- Ensuring tendering and procurement practices are implemented and managed in accordance with Council’s policies and procedures
- Preparing tender/contract templates and documentation for tendering of works and services
The successful applicant will require:
- Ideally you will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in strategic procurement in multiple categories, preferably in local or state government
- Graduates are welcome to apply, however you must have tertiary qualifications in strategic procurement - other fields of study will not be considered
- You will ideally be available to commence at short notice, however candidates with notice periods will also be considered
