This is a unique opportunity within the Department for Environment and Water, working with a small diverse team overseeing contractors and staff to deliver a number of high priority projects to improve flood management. Scope, manage and evaluate the costs, benefits and risks of the project. Manage a diverse range of stakeholders and develop consultative networks.
Randstad are working exclusively with the Department for Environment and Water. This position will be the knowledge base ‘go to’ person managing these unique projects.
Your new role:
- As the Project Manager, you will be well versed and experienced in a range of projects providing professional recommendations, analysis and advice to the team and community. Your proven relationship building skills will be complemented by well developed, interpersonal and leadership influencing abilities.
- Strategically plan, direction and manage teams/contractors.
- Plan, deliver and manage projects on time and within budget.
- Sources technical expertise and uses as appropriate to support the implementation of the project.
- Working with subcontractors, stakeholders and the community to evaluate the costs, benefits and associated risks of a particular course of action.
- Flexible hours and some after hours as required, intrastate travel to remote locations and some interstate travel may be required.
This is an integral part of the Flood Management team, ensuring the projects are run to a high standard. As the Project Manager you will need:
- Experienced in Project Management and managing stakeholders
- A qualification in science, water, resource management, engineering or equivalent
- Qualifications in project management - desirable
- Highly developed communicator with the ability to positively influence.
- National Police Clearance required for the successful candidate.
