My client, one of Adelaide's leading specialist clinics, has an exciting full time opportunity for an experienced and well presented Medical Receptionist to join their CBD based Practice.
The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills and sound knowledge of Medical Terminology and the Medical Billing process. This is an exciting permanent opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Receptionist and you will be expected to work well and calmly under pressure while maintaining focus and have exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Manage incoming calls in an efficient and friendly manner, assessing urgency of enquiry in accordance with Practice guidelines and supporting other staff members in managing their calls;
- Arrange consultation times for relevant patients;
- Generate patient consult paperwork and confirm consult appointments the day before;
- Maintaining accurate and up to date calendar records for the doctors;
- Accurate and immediate (within ½ hour of receipt) data entry of patient and referrer details into the patient management software system from patient and surgeon’s rooms phone calls and faxed/emailed hospital lists;
- Ensure smooth running of the consulting clinics, advise patients of any known delays, receipt payments and process Medicare/DVA billing;
- Processing refunds to patients, health funds/doctors as required;
- Debtor management: identifying overdue invoices and following up with relevant source (e.g. Patient or health fund) via phone or letter monthly.
To be successful, you will have:
- Completed an accredited Medical Reception Training course and/or have previous experience in a medical reception position;
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Sound knowledge of medical terminology;
- Excellent customer service skills and able to respond sensitively to patient needs;
- Previous experience billing Medicare and/or health funds;
- An ability to work effectively both as a team player and autonomously;
- An ability to carefully plan, organise and prioritise tasks;
- An ability to work well under pressure and respond to fluctuating work requirements;
- The ability to follow direction, accept and respond to feedback, learn new tasks, adapt to change and show initiative.
