The Position
The primary purpose of this position is to provide corporate governance support and high-level advice to the Chief Integrity and Risk Officer (CIRO), the Department’s Board, and other executives and work units across the business. The occupant will need to ensure a busy program of Board and Committee reporting and other governance activities are streamlined across the department.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Develop, manage and monitor the Governance Framework (including delegations), and related policies and procedures, to ensure the Board and management fulfil their statutory obligations for the proper, effective and efficient governance of the department.
- Be a trusted advisor and strategic thought partner on corporate governance matters for the Board, Board advisory committees and the Senior Leadership Team.
- Oversee the day-to-day work of the Board and Committees Secretariat, including the direct support for staff undertaking these roles, to ensure deadlines are planned for, resources are allocated, and outcomes are advanced.
- Manage and track progress on high priority initiatives, identify any/potential obstacles and provide solutions through a governance lens.
- Facilitate the preparation of briefings, submissions, Board and Senior Leadership Team papers and other complex and sensitive documents to assist the CIRO in addressing issues affecting the Board and the Division.
- Ensure accurate and timely provision of information and reports as required.
- Implement initiatives to lift performance and outcomes.
- Manage and support key stakeholder relationships.
- Undertake special projects and other duties as directed.

- Relevant tertiary qualifications or regulatory experience will be highly regarded.
