As Development Assessment Officer, you will play a pivotal role in providing essential support to the community and ensuring that planning regulations and guidelines are followed. You will be responsible for assisting residents, developers, and other stakeholders with their planning inquiries, offering guidance, and facilitating the application process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide information and guidance to the public, developers, and stakeholders regarding planning policies, regulations, and procedures.
- Review planning applications and assess their compliance with local and national planning policies.
- Offer advice on potential planning issues and suggest possible solutions.
- Coordinate with other departments, agencies, and external organizations as necessary.
- Attend meetings and participate in training to stay current with planning legislation and best practices.
- Maintain accurate records and databases related to planning applications and inquiries.
- Assist with the development and implementation of planning policies and strategies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Town/Urban Planning, or a related field
- Previous experience in a development assessment
- Knowledge of local and national planning policies and legislation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in relevant computer software and databases.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
