Capital Program Director
An exciting opportunity is available to join the executive leadership team as a Capital Program Director with Hawkesbury City Council.
We are seeking a dedicated Capital Program Director to take the reins in leading, coordinating and providing direction and accountability to the managers of the Council's Capital Works Program, West Invest Program, and Infrastructure Recovery Program.
... The incumbent will manage a dedicated team responsible for delivering public infrastructure projects across the three Programs and all asset classes owned by the Council. These asset groups include roadways, open spaces, buildings, facilities, storm water management, waste, and waste water systems, among others.
The role
This is a critical role in ensuring the success of the capital programmes, with major responsibilities that include:
- Program Oversight: Oversight of program implementation, including all program management and administration activities, outputs, and results. This includes reporting, budget monitoring, and project performance review.
- Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic leadership in the areas of technology, operations, finance, and management.
- Advisory: Provide expert advice on areas relevant to your role to the Director of Infrastructure Services, the Executive team, and Council members. Your insights will contribute to well-informed decision-making processes.
- Resource Planning: Utilise the project/program pipeline, asset management plans, and the long-term financial plan to strategically plan for and adjust future resourcing requirements of the delivery teams.
Requirements
Be a proven leader with the ability to motivate and inspire your team. Have extensive planning & development and change management experience. Establish and maintain strong, productive connections with all stakeholders to generate high levels of involvement, communication, and satisfaction.
You will have the following:
- Tertiary qualification in portfolio/program/project management or a demonstrably related discipline.
- Certification in project management e.g. PMBOK
- Class C Drivers licence.
- NSW Local Government or NSW State Government experience desired.

This role offers an attractive salary of $180,000 - $200,000 + 11% super + 3.5% civil liability and $10k car allowance. On site parking is also available .
