Key Responsibilities:
Staff Supervision and Development:
- Supervise a diverse workforce, including volunteers, casual employees, and a small number of full-time staff.
- Engage, motivate, and provide guidance to staff to ensure they deliver exceptional service and adhere to established standards.
- Identify training needs and develop strategies for staff training and development programs.
Workforce Planning and Rostering:
- Develop and maintain staffing rosters to ensure adequate coverage for daily operations of the agency.
- Proactively manage and adjust rosters based on visitor trends, events, and seasonal fluctuations.
- Ensure compliance with workplace regulations and labor laws in staffing decisions.
Operational Management:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the agency, ensuring a seamless and engaging visitor experience.
- Manage the school booking system, coordinating visits and educational programs.
- Collaborate with relevant departments to address operational challenges and implement improvements.
Recruitment:
- Interview panel representation, staff selection, and coordination of on boarding and induction for new contractor/casual staff and volunteers.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and maintain positive relationships with internal stakeholders, including management, to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Foster partnerships with external stakeholders to enhance the agency's offerings and community engagement.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience in supervising and leading staff, including performance management and development.
- Strong organizational and operational management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of workforce planning, rostering, and staffing best practices.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Experience in the cultural or exhibition sector is advantageous but not essential.
